The new Freebies iPad/Android tablet app is an essential download for anyone who likes to get free stuff. Just download the app and you’re ready to go. You’ll instantly be presented with a clear and easy to view list of all the latest deals that you can take advantage of to get free goods.

The main page shows you all the latest items you can get for free which range from a free pizza, free toys, a free pint of beer, and even free solar panels worth £14,000. Clicking on the deal will bring up a simple and easy to view pop-up which explains the nature of the deal and what you need to do to take advantage of it. The pop-up also includes the link you need to click to be directed to the deal’s page.

The app has many different setting you can use to make it run more to your liking. You can view the list of free items either by how popular they are or by how new the deals are. A search bar allows users to type in keywords if they are looking for something in particular and you can also change the view of the main page to show you how many people have rated each deal, allowing you to easily see which deals have been well received by others.

Clicking on the drop down menu in the top left corner will bring up a tab which shows you how to get started, how Freebies finds all these deals, and how you can find Freebies official Facebook and Twitter pages, an excellent addition for people who are new to Freebies.

Below this, you can also search for free items either by genre, such as free CD’s and DVD’s, free gym memberships, and free music etc. You can also select your favourite type of free items in order to get a notification whenever a new free item in that category is available. As a fan of films and music, I opted to get notifications from Free CD’s and DVD’s, Free Movies and Films, and Free Music. You can also subscribe via email so that you can get new updates sent your email account everyday, letting you know about all the latest free stuff.

All in all, Freebies is a simple but very effective app for those on the lookout for free gear. It’s simple and easy to use, and because of this, is a great app to have a look at if you’re looking to live frugally. It’s certainly worth checking out, and the best part is the app is free!
